Sock in a Mother's Day, 6:00 pm

I am about to start the heel flap. Left hand is starting to cramp up. I may not finish today.

Mom's sock has been reborn as a plain ol' stockinette sock. She's pretty certain she won't finish today.

As you can see, I am taking full advantage of the presence of an interesting yard to take these pictures. Do you guys miss the white pillow on the orange couch that I usually use? :-D

  1. Love the yard, and the socks--you go girls! We eound up with non-knitting family stuff ALL weekend (horrors) but I am still on board, and inspired by your photos of progress! Rest your hand!

  2. Awesome! I have been too busy to knit all weekend, but tonight -- I'm casting on, baby! I told the fam that this evening I'm doing nothing but knitting.

  3. Good progress! I got down to the
gussett of my own sock, now my right hand hurts, even with breaks.. but its been fun. I hope I can finish the rest of my sock after work tomorrow, and put the picture on Flickr. Thanks for letting hop on board and keep up the good work :)

  5. Are those onions that your sock is above? I had to zoom in--in the little picture it looked like a crazy-cool bird's nest!

How's your hand doing this morning?

  6. well, you may not have completed the sock but you sure did an awesome job! In honor of the sock in a day challenge, I actually finally finished a sock that had been waiting to be finished and I had the intention of knitting a sock along with everyone else but didn't get around to it!

  7. In spite of my frustration with the chevron pattern that refused to fit my foot (too big...frog...to little...frog)and starting over on the stockinette that is easy and fun to watch the stripes do their thing, Sunday was a great time with Liz. I'm so impressed with your work, Liz. Next time I do this, I think I'll choose to do Sock #2 (so I've already struggled through making sure the pattern works!)

To Melissa, the sock is hung on the fence above some type of tropical air plant. I have 3 but that one is by far my favorite. It's like a little alien hanging on the fence.
